  • Cove Fire Departments Release 2022 Statistics

    Cove-area fire departments have released their 2022 statistics with some departments reporting an increase in calls from the previous year while others saw their numbers go down. The Friendship Volunteer Fire Company ended the year with 390 calls, up from 381 in 2021, which was an increase from 276 in 2020. Of those, 142 were in the borough and Taylor Township, 95 were in East Freedom, and the rest spread out aiding other companies.     Longtime Spring Cove School District School Board Member John Biddle expressed his concerns about school board members and committees at Monday evening's meeting. According to Biddle, if a board member does not sit on a committee, they cannot attend committee meetings, have an active role or give input.
