    The Wolf Administration April 6 announced funding now is available to help Pennsylvania’s rural communities increase protections from wildfires. Aid is granted on a cost-share basis. Grants for any project during a fiscal year cannot exceed 50 percent of the actual expenditures of local, public, and private nonprofit organizations in the agreement.     The U.S. Census Bureau on March 26 released estimates of the total population as of July 1, 2019 at the county level. The data show that in Pennsylvania, the fastest growing counties since 2010 are Cumberland (+7.6 percent), Lebanon (+6.1 percent), Lehigh (+5.6 percent), Centre (+5.4 percent), and Chester (+5.2 percent).     In 2019, the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC) was awarded a grant to inventory existing broadband assets in the region, identify gaps in internet service, and develop a plan for improving broadband services.
