    Seventeen local students representing 16 self-made businesses are set to graduate from the Blair County Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). Throughout the 25-week program, students received the necessary tools to launch their very own IRS-registered business.     Chief of Police Kerry Hoover informed the council of a recent hacking issue that affected him and his wife. The hacker was able to get copies of checks by hacking into a business’s account, where Hoover had recently shopped. The hacker “washed” the check, which means they changed the check number, who it was made out to and the amount. Hoover advised council to check their online banking often to make sure fraudulent purchases aren’t being made. “They could drain you dry before you know it,” Hoover said.     Citing increased costs, dwindling contributions, and equipment that is going to need replaced sooner rather than later, the Friendship Volunteer Fire Company asked Roaring Spring Borough Council for a one mill property tax increase that would go to help fund the borough's fire protection service.
