    Last week’s heavy rainfall from Hurricane Ida kept Cove area crews busy closing roads and pumping basements. More than six inches of rain fell on the Cove Sept. 1, once again overwhelming storm drains and causing wide-spread flooding throughout the area. In Freedom Township, Asst. Fire Chief James Lang said fire crews pumped water from at least 10 basements, working until almost midnight.     In early August, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf said his administration would not issue a mask mandate for schools, saying it would be left up to individual districts to make the call.
