KENNETH W. BOWSER

Kenneth W. "Pap-Pap" Bowser, 63, of Woodbury, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at UPMC Altoona.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Waterside Church of the Brethren. Pastors Paul Snyder and Eric Poteat officiated.

Ken was born on Dec. 23, 1954, in Hopewell, son of the late James C. and Betty (Forshey) Bowser.

He married Cathy Rettburg on April 7, 1974, at Waterside Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy; son Mark A. Bowser (Sandy) of Loysburg; daughter Kendra A. Pritchett (Josh) of Yellow Creek; son Justin S. Bowser (Jillian) of Ligonier; son Jared L. Bowser of Pittsburgh; brother Harry Bowser (Deanna) of Fishertown; brother James Bowser (Brenda) of Saxton; sister Kathy Eshelman (Francis) of Everett; as well as grandchildren Benjamin, Lillian, Lena and Landon.

Ken was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Saxton, and a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren.

He was first employed as a mechanic at Morris International in Everett. Following this, he went to work for Wineland Equipment as a mechanic and later as a shop foreman.

He enjoyed woodworking, attending tractor shows with his family and mentoring his grandchildren.

Ken truly enjoyed lending a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Above all else, he prided himself in having a strong family bond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ken's name can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
