WILLIAM D. 'BILL' WORTHING JR.

William D. “Bill” Worthing Jr., 69, of Martinsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 9, 2018, at his home, following a lengthy fight with Alzheimer’s.

A funeral was held Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church. Pastor Brian McCall officiated.

Private interment was held at Holsinger Church Cemetery, Roaring Spring RR.

Bill was born on Nov. 8, 1949, in Roaring Spring, son of the late William D. Sr. and Dorothy L. (Kensinger) Worthing.

He married Janice A. Delozier on June 5, 1971, at Holsinger Church of the Brethren, Bakers Summit.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years; two children: Karisa A. Zola (Louis) of Harrisburg and Andy W. (Erin) of Martinsburg; two grandsons: Tony and Dominic Zola; a granddaughter, Liberty Worthing; and three sisters: Sandra McClure of Mount Union, Judy Snare of Saxton and Mary Ann Hoffman of Loysburg.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Saxton.

He was employed as an assemblyman for the McLanahan Corp., Hollidaysburg, with 40 years of service.

He was a member of Martinsburg Grace Brethren Church.

Bill loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed attending auctions and gardening.

Memorial contributions in memory of Bill can be given to Bright Focus Foundation, (Alzheimer’s Research), 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
