Woman Aids Humane Society

Helen Aikens of Duncansville celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends at the Laurel Lodge, Duncansville, on Dec. 9, In lieu of gifts, she asked for monetary donations and pet food for the local animal shelter.

Aikens said $430 and 347 pounds of pet food were gifted to Helen and donated to the Central PA Humane Society in Altoona.
