NBC Girls Drop to 1-4 on Year

Northern Bedford’s girls’ basketball squad got its first win of the season Monday night, Dec. 17, in a 39-30 victory over visiting Forbes Road.

The Lady Panthers had to weather the storm in the fourth quarter from the pesky Lady Cardinals who battled to the wire.

NB held a 21-10 halftime edge, but Forbes cut it to 28-22 by the end of the third quarter. Twice in the fourth quarter the Lady Cardinals cut the lead to three, but on both occasions NB inside presence Ariel Reed scored down low to give the Lady Panthers a cushion.

Reed paced NB with 15 points while Maddie Cottle added nine.
