W-burg Girls Defeat Harmony

The Williamsburg High School girls' basketball team slipped to 2-3 overall on the season following a week in which it lost two of three.

The Lady Pirates began the week with a 55-49 loss at Claysburg-Kimmel on Dec. 18 (see game story in Claysburg-Kimmel’s roundup).

WHS 46, Harmony 37

At home on Dec. 20, the Lady Pirates stormed out to a 29-11 lead at halftime and cruised to a 46-37 victory against Harmony,

Alexi McMonagle tossed in 18 points to pace Williamsburg. Hannah Brenneman and Marcella Lynn chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Lady Pirates.

Mo Valley 43, WHS 40

On Dec. 21 host Williamsburg fell behind by eight after one quarter and fell 43-40 to Moshannon Valley. Alexi McMonagle tossed in 13 points, including three 3-pointers, to pace WHS. Anna Ward added 10 points.
