SCEA UPDATE: SCSD Teachers Donate to the Community

Each year, the teachers in the Spring Cove School District Education Association and other staff members contribute financially to the community in various ways.

Teachers and staff members pay to dress down during certain days of the school year, and the Spring Cove Education Association (SCEA) donates that money to students and community members in need.

For instance, each year SCEA offers one or more scholarships for students who are planning to major in education in college.

In addition, money is raised for special causes through dressing down. These can include giving money to students and their families when there is an economic need or when there is a family emergency.

SCEA also provides revenue for Books for Babies, an annual campaign that offers books to the families of newborns in hospitals so that babies will start off on the right educational foot.

SCEA members take the opportunity to provide assistance to people in their times of need.

The Spring Cove Education Association (SCEA) would like to share updates of some of the many positive events that are taking place within the Spring Cove School District in which teachers are involved. In order to do so, the SCEA sponsors “Update” articles in the Morrisons Cove Herald.
