Duncansville Man Jailed for Indecent Assault of Minor

A Duncansville man faces a list of charges, including felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with minors and corruption of minors, after a state police investigation into the sexual assault of a girl beginning in 2017.

Michael D. Lastra, 48, allegedly began molesting the girl in 2017 when she was 13 years old. Police charge that Lastra continued molesting the girl in 2018 when she was 14.

According to the charges, state police were called to the victim's home in August to investigate the alleged sexual assault.

The victim's father told police that Lastra was a family friend who would frequently come over to their house to use the computer.

The victim's father said Lastra came to their house on Aug. 14, 2018, to use the computer, and when he went upstairs to where Lastra was. he found the victim sitting on a couch with a blanket over her and Lastra sitting beside her.

Lastra then left the residence but later called the girl's father and admitted to touching the victim inappropriately but denied having intercourse with her.

The victim's father called police and an investigation was launched, bringing to light the alleged incidents of past sexual abuse.

The victim was interviewed at the Blair County Child Advocacy Center and related that on several occasions between January 2017 and August 2018, Lastra fondled her and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

Lastra allegedly told the victim not to tell on him because if anyone found out he would go to jail.

Lastra was arrested on Jan. 3 and arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner, Hollidaysburg, and committed to the Blair County Prison on $100,000 cash bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 15.
