As the government shutdown enters its second month, a lot of attention has been focused on the thousands of government employees who have either been furloughed or have been forced to work without pay since the standoff between President Donald Trump and the Democratic-controlled Congress began.

With many federal services either cut back or closed completely, there is no shortage of people struggling to survive while feeling the effects of the bickering between the White House and congressional leaders over funding for a border wall.
