Smith Transport Supports Organizations

Smith Transport Inc. of Roaring Spring celebrated its successful year of giving in 2018 on Thursday, Jan. 24. Led by the company's first-ever Charity Committee, employees and officials raised more than $4,000 last year for two organizations – Family Services Inc. of Altoona and the Bedford County Humane Society. Each organization received $2,034 through Smith Transport's creative fundraising efforts throughout the year. Some of the ways the company raised money was through sales of cookbooks and T-shirts, a pumpkin-carving contest in October and "No-Shave November."

Representing Family Services Inc. at the celebration event were Trish Hopfl, Rhonda Smith, Mary Billick and Lisa Hann. Joy Miller represented the Bedford County Humane Society. Each organization received an over-sized check in front of Smith Transport employees and officials.
