BB&T Bank in Woodbury Closing in April; Bedford Still Open

BB&T Bank in Woodbury will close its doors on Friday, April 12. There are branch offices in Everett and Bedford that the Woodbury clients can visit. No layoffs are expected as a result of the Woodbury branch closing.

The BB&T Bank in Woodbury will close its doors at the end of the business day on Friday, April 12.

David R. White, vice president of corporate communications, said he recognizes that any business closing can be an emotional issue for a community.

"We never take the decision to close a financial center lightly," White said. "But after much consideration, we've decided to close the Woodbury branch at 149 Main St. on April 12."

White said clients are choosing to conduct their banking business digitally both at BB&T and in the financial industry.

"Branches are still an important part of BB&T business model, but we are constantly evaluating all our locations in terms of client-use patterns and convenience within the markets we serve," White said.

White said Woodbury clients can visit the Everett branch at 140 E. Main St. or at the Bedford branch at 601 E. Pitt St.

No layoffs are expected as a result of this branch closing.
