Whisker Announces Campaign for Sheriff

Erik Whisker, 40, of Everett, announced on Jan. 29 that he will seek the Republican nomination for Bedford County sheriff.

Whisker first began working in law enforcement in 1999 when he was hired full-time as a corrections officer at the Bedford County Jail. In, 2000, Whisker transferred to the sheriff's office as a part-time deputy sheriff.

On Sept. 11, 2001, Whisker worked as a part-time deputy sheriff for the Somerset County Sheriff's Office working to protect a federal disaster site. In 2002, he accepted a full-time position as deputy sheriff for the Bedford County Sheriff's Office. I...
