Lady Pirates Fall to Valley

Juniata Valley jumped out to a 37-10 halftime lead and cruised to a 71-28 victory at Williamsburg on Jan. 28 in high school girls’ basketball action.

Leading 19-7 after one quarter, Valley broke the game open with an 18-3 run in the second half. The Lady Hornets dominated the second half, too, outscoring Williamsburg 34-18.

Kassidy McChessney paced the Lady Pirates with nine points. Anna Ward added seven points and Marcella Lynn six points (two 3-pointers).

Williamsburg fell to 6-11 overall.
