Area Well-Represented as H.S. Sports Postseason Begins

Boys' and girls' teams from Central, Claysburg-Kimmel and Williamsburg high schools have qualified

Central junior Braden Kitt (5) drives the baseline for a reverse layup against Tyrone defender on Jan. 15. The Dragons will entertain Tyrone at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The winner will advance to the district title game on Friday, Feb. 22, at Penn State Altoona.

The Morrisons Cove area will be well-represented in the upcoming District 6 high school basketball playoffs.

Each of the boys' and girls' teams from Central, Claysburg-Kimmel and Williamsburg high schools have qualified for the postseason, which is scheduled to get underway next week.

Class 1A

Both teams from Williamsburg have earned the sixth seed in their respective fields.

The Lady Pirates will play at third-seeded Purchase Line at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. The winner will play at St. Joseph's Academy at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22.
