C-K Girls Improve Mark to 14-4

The Claysburg-Kimmel High School girls’ basketball team stretched its winning streak to four games following a 69-33 victory at Glendale on Feb. 4.

C-K jumped out to a 21-6 lead after one quarter and pushed it to 34-17 by halftime. The Lady Bulldogs dominated the second half as well, 35-16, including 19-5 in the fourth quarter.

Emily Claar paced C-K with 16 ponts. Also hitting double figures were Bailey Garver (15 points), Megan Hartman (13) and Rebekah Claar (11 points 3-pointers).

C-K 88, So. Hunt. 39

Five players scored in double figures to lead Claysburg-Kimmel to an 88-39 victory at Southern Huntingdon on Feb. 6. C-K, which won its fifth straight game, jumped out to a 48-18 lead at halftime an cruised to the win.

Emily Claar led the charge with 21 points. Megan Hartman added 18 points, while Rebekah Claar nailed four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points. Scoring 10 points apiece were Bailey Garver and Olivia Locke.

B-A 84, C-K 60

Host Bellwood-Antis put a stoop to C-K’s winning streak with an 84-60 victory on Feb. 7. Leading 19-15 after the first quarter, the Lady Blue Devils broke the game open with a 19-9 run in the second quarter. B-A dominated the second half 46-36.

Olivia Locke and Rebekah Claar scored 13 points each to lead C-K. Emily Claar and Megan Hartman added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

C-K 66, Mo Valley 59

Eight 3-pointers pushed visiting C-K to a 66-59 victory at Moshannon Valley on Feb. 9. Trailing 11-10 after the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs took charge with a 40-27 run spanning the second and third quarters. Mo Valley took the final quarter 21-16.

Emily Claar tossed in a game-high 24 points, including three 3-pointers, to pace C-K (14-4). Megan Hartman also connected on three 3-pointers and finished with 18 points. Rebekah Claar added 15 points in the victory.
