The Claysburg Area Hall of Fame Committee has announced the induction of its sixth class of inductees on Saturday, April 6, at the Claysburg-Kimmel High School auditorium.
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m.. with a reception immediately following. The public is invited and dress is business casual. This event is jointly sponsored by Claysburg P.A.S.T. and the Claysburg Rotary Club.
This year's inductees are the Claysburg Pizza, General Refractories Co., Walter and Nancy Musselman, John "Jack" Yingling and Zeigler Chevrolet.
The nominators of the inductees will present them with individual awards. Additionally, marker plaques in their honor will be placed in the Claysburg Area Community Park by the Hall of Fame Committee.
This year's inductees include one of the major industries to come to Claysburg with two manufacturing plants in the early 1900s as the Pioneer Award, two local businesses with ties to the community for 60 years and 100 years, a local businessman and a couple who dedicated their lives to volunteering in the Claysburg area.
The Hall of Fame Committee is comprised of nine members from the Claysburg area who are elected at large by Claysburg P.A.S.T. The Hall of Fame Committee is an off-shoot of Claysburg P.A.S.T. and is financially supported by them.
