Brothers Neil and Mark Gartland recently purchased Over's Country Store from Shirley and Stanley Over. The brothers said they plan to uphold the tradition of the Over's legacy while building toward the future. Gartland's Supply and County Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Since 1991 motorists driving down State Route 164 saw the sign for Over's Country Store, a Cove staple for more than 46 years.
Soon the sign will change, but the business people have come to rely on for everything from feed to housewares will remain.
Stanley and Shirley Over, who describe themselves as "partners in business, and partners in life," have decided to retire and sold the store they worked side by side building.
"It was time to sell and head to paradise," said Stanley, referring to the couple's plans to spend time in Florida.
