Northern Bedford to Welcome 'Charlie Brown' March 14-16

Good grief! Guess who's coming to Northern Bedford? Charlie Brown and the whole Peanuts gang.

The Northern Bedford County High School Music Department will present its 2018-19 spring production with the feel-good musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" (Revised 1999). The musical will open Thursday, March 14, and run through Saturday, March 16. All shows will begin at 7 p.m.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" portrays an average day in the life of the ever-hapless comic strip hero. Charlie's ordinary day takes us from Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to abject despair, from bright uncertain morning to hopeful starlit evening – all tangled up with the lives of Charlie's friends (human and otherwise). Charlie Brown's inner battle will resonate with young and old alike.

Under the direction and music direction of Brett Keith, Northern Bedford County High School/Middle School choir director, the all-student cast includes Brook Troutman as Charlie Brown, Clay McIlnay as Snoopy, Josh Strayer as Schroeder, Matthew Hall as Linus, Madison Cottle as Sally and Ally Ritchey as Lucy. Choreography will be by Bonnie Dilling.

Musical numbers will include "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," "My Blanket and Me," "Little Known Facts," "Suppertime," "Beethoven Day," "My New Philosophy," "Happiness," "The Kite" and "The Book Report."

"Our cast has been working diligently, and is already doing amazing things with this production," Keith said. "They are also extremely excited to share it with audiences. Bring the kids and bring the grandparents, as you won't want to miss this special event."

Tickets can be purchased at the Northern Bedford County School District office or by calling (814) 766-4710. Tickets will also be available at the door for all performances.
