Central Names Rotary 'Student of the Month'

Central High School senior Marissa Kagarise has been named the Rotary "Student of the Month" for March.

She is the daughter of Mark and Melissa Kagarise.

Marissa's school activities include National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Foreign Language Club and vice president of the Art Club.

Her hobbies/interests include reading; writing; music listening and playing guitar, ukulele and piano; drawing and painting; photography; and cooking.

Marissa's honors/ awards received include Central's September "Student of the Month," Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society and Art Club vice president.

Her favorite quote, by Colleen Houck, is, "What is real and what is not is for your heart to decide and for your heart to know."

Marissa plans to attend college, find her passion and see the world.

The "Rotary Student of the Month" award is sponsored by the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club. Any senior student who has achieved a grade point average of 93 percent or above for their first three years at CHS is automatically nominated for the award. A faculty committee of 13 people then votes for the candidates that have best exemplified the characteristics of service, character and leadership.
