Elizabeth E. Brumbaugh

Elizabeth E. "Liz" Brumbaugh, 98, a resident at Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Roaring Spring, passed away on Monday morning, March 4, 2019, at Homewood.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9. Pastor Marlys Hershberger will officiate.

Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Liz was born on Oct. 26, 1920, in Bakers Summit, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Ester (Pote) Keith.

She was twice married. She married Merrill E. Miller on Aug. 27, 1941. He passed away on July 1944. She then married Gerald "Jerry" Brumbaugh on April 11, 1947. He passed away on Nov. 13, 2013.

Liz is survived by four children: Patricia A. McGraw and husband Floyd of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; Sandy Moose of Tequesta, Florida; Samuel G. Brumbaugh and companion Anne Stives of Duncansville; and Drusan Bithell of Roaring Spring; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Ethel Burket of Bakers Summit, Harry Keith of Roaring Spring and Betty Fisher of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Andrew and Daniel; and a sister, Elsie Falk.

Liz was a life member of the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, where she served as deacon and was active in the Ladies Aide.

She had previously been employed as a telephone operator for United Telephone, and had also been employed as a seamstress at Klevins Department Store, both in Roaring Spring.

Liz enjoyed gardening, sewing and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Liz's memory may be given to either the First Church of the Brethren, 901 Bloomfield St., Roaring Spring, PA 16673; or Holsinger Church of the Brethren, 2737 Lafayette Road, New Enterprise, PA 16664.

Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc.,, Roaring Spring.
