M-burg Police Warn of Counterfeit Bills

Counterfeit bills are circulating in the area, according to the Martinsburg Police Department. The police department was notified of a counterfeit $10 bill that was discovered locally. Martinsburg Chief of Police Kerry L. Hoover said the bills are easily recognizable as being counterfeit with the Chinese writing on the front and back.

The Martinsburg Police Department is alerting the public to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills – featuring Chinese writing on the front and back – that are circulating the area.

Chief of Police Kerry L. Hoover said his department was notified of a counterfeit $10 bill that was discovered locally this week.

"We would like to make everyone aware that these bills are being used in the area and they are easy to recognize," Chief Hoover said.
