GAI ‘LAN’ THI GENTRY

Gai “Lan” Thi Gentry, 66, of Roaring Spring, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at home.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, March 28, at the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., thompsonfh.com, Roaring Spring. Pastor John Collins will officiate.

Interment will be made in Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.

Gai was born on Sept. 10, 1952, in Hanoi, Vietnam, the daughter of the late Do Ty and Do Thi Dac.

She is survived by four children; Kim St. Pierre of Toledo, Ohio, Timothy C. Gentry and wife April of Duncansville, Michael E. Gentry and wife Brandi of Duncansville and Jeanette M. Hollobaugh and husband Jon “Jake” of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Rebecca, Dustin, Camden, Casey, Laila, Sophia, Maddox, Paxton and Josie; a great-granddaughter, Reagan; three sisters and a brother, who all live in Saigon; her former husband, John E. Gentry of Duncansville; and a special friend, Melvin Dick of Roaring Spring.

Gai was employed at the H.H. Brown Shoe Co. – “Cove Shoe” – in Martinsburg for more than 30 years.

She loved bargain shopping.
