Homewood Auction April 27

Homewood at Martinsburg’s Auxiliary will host its 11th annual Silent Auction from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, in Homewood’s Givler Cultural Center.

The winning bids will be determined at 4 p.m. on Saturday. The public is invited to participate in this event; proceeds are used to enhance the lives of Homewood residents.

This is the auxiliary’s largest annual fundraiser, with last year’s proceeds exceeding $11,000.

Antiques, collectibles, furniture, paintings, housewares, jewelry, and many “theme baskets” as well as hotel getaway packages and donations from area businesses will be available for bidding.

Auction participants receive a bidding number when they register that they use to anonymously bid on the various items’ bidding sheets, and participants with the highest bids at 4 p.m. are the winners. Winners will be contacted by telephone if they submitted the winning bid and are not able to be present at the end of the auction.

Organizers estimate more than 600 items will be available for bid.

“There truly is something for everyone,” Pierce said.
