IRC Continues Mission Despite Helm Change

Katrina Pope wears many hats at work. As the education and enforcement coordinator for the Intermunicipal Relations Committee (IRC) since 2010, she balances a myriad of daily job demands.

"Education is the favorite part of my job; just being out working with the public and talking to people about recycling, answering their questions and busting the common myths," Pope said.

Her top myth to bust is that all plastic is recyclable. Yogurt containers, strawberry containers, frozen dinner trays, butter and cottage cheese tubs, take-out cups are all trash. Only plastic bottles, jugs and jars are...
