Martinsburg Bunny

April 18, 2019

Judith Ott

Long's Outpost, with stores in Martinsburg and New Paris, hosted the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 13, for the first time. The store in New Paris had the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 41 children attended. The store in Martinsburg had the Easter Bunny from 2 until 4 p.m., and 71 children attended. Some children waved and hugged the Easter Bunny and a few were afraid and held onto their parents. Treat bags with chocolate in them were given to all.

Sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap at Long's Outpost in Martinsburg (above) are Keegan McClain (left), 7 weeks, and Blaze McClain 1, from New Enterprise.

Customers enjoyed seeing the bunny and waving as they were shopping. Many customers were looking at fishing items as this was the first day of trout season. Some customers actually jumped in the air as they turned around and saw a large white rabbit sitting in a chair. Pictures were taken of all the children at both stores by Paul Unger, a Long's employee.
