Blair County Sees Major Uptick in Travel Spending

Report Shows $23 Million Increase in travel spending benefits to Blair County

Blair County’s business community benefited from $358 million in travel spending during the year 2017.

The information comes from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) 2017 Annual Economic Impact Report. The report was released March 27, 2019, by DCED’s manager of Tourism Research and Statistics. DCED contracted for the analysis with Tourism Economics, an Oxford Economics Company.

The record-high amount represents a seven-percent increase, equating to a $23 million increase in travel spending for Blair County over the year 2016, which was at $335 m...
