Herald of April 18 1919

Private Homer N. Ake who has been honorably discharged from oversea service in the 37th Division, Company B, 136th Machine Gun Battalion will give an address in the Lutheran church on Sunday evening at 7:30 o’clock. Mr. Ake has seen service over a large part of the line, and will tell many interesting things about the actual fighting and battlefield experiences. His address will consist of interesting information as well as entertaining reminiscences of battles through which he has passed. We have been reading the reports in the newspapers, this address will now give us the record of an eyewitness. The public is invited to attend and hear this address.

On Thursday evening, April 3, a surprise party was held at the home of Freda Leidy of Curryville, in honor of Elizabeth Kagarise. The evening was spent in playing games. At a late hour refreshments were served. The young people returned home wishing Elizabeth many more happy birthdays.

Seven-pound parcels can now be sent to soldiers overseas.
