Pair Fight About Religion

William Dodson and Emmanuel Smith, both from the East Freedom area, began arguing over religious issues after attending revival services near Altoona. During the argument, Mr. Smith drew a large caliber revolver and shot Mr. Dodson, first in the knee and then in the arm. Mr. Smith was also accused of having beaten another man with a club a few days after the shooting. He was then arrested and jailed for arraignment.
