The Central volleyball team continues to search for its first victory of the season after a pair of losses last week

Huntingdon 3, CHS 0

The Bearcats prevailed in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-21. Alex Barnes led Central with eight service points followed by Zack Gahagan with five. Jordan Stump paced the team with five kills and added three service winners, while Shane Taylor had a team high of eight blocks. Setter Eli Lingenfelter dished out seven assists, with teammate Sam Moyer totaling three service points.

Forest Hills 3, CHS 1

The Dragons lost a tough match against Forest Hills by scores of 17-25, 27-25, 25-8, 25-19. Central’s Jordan Stump finished with seven service points and five kills, while Tyler Earnest (six) and Zach Gahagan (five) combine for 11 service points. Zach Wyant had a big day with eight assists, five kills and five service points. Eli Lingenfelter led the team with 13 assists and added four blocks and four kills. Shane Taylor led the team with seven blocks, while Zeb Wyant had five kills.

“We played well in both matches but couldn’t get over the hump,” Central coach Ken Wyant said. “All three games at Huntingdon were competitive and we had a chance to go up two games against Forest Hills. I guess this is all due to inexperience and youth but we hope to find a win soon. The guys continue to work hard.”
