Armed Forces Day to Be Celebrated on May 18

Armed Forces Day will be celebrated on Saturday, May 18, at the Wall That Heals at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center on Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona.

The program will honor women veterans, and each woman veteran will receive a pin.

Displays by local service and military organizations will be open to the public at 9 a.m.

Patriotic music will be provided during the day by the Cambria County Community Band.

The Blair County Honor Guard will advance and retire the colors. The Jaffa Highlanders will play “Amazing Grace” along with other appropriate selections.
