Police Searching for Vehicle in Hit-and-Run

The Pennsylvania State Police is requesting the assistance from the operator of a 2016 to 2018 white Toyota RAV4 to help with the investigation of a hit-and-run on Thursday, April 18, in Roaring Spring.

According to the State Police, Hollidaysburg, the vehicle was observed in the former Bickel's Surplus store parking lot at 6:46 a.m. on April 18, the morning the victim, Pastor John Garner, 64, of Everett, was discovered.

The Pennsylvania State Police are attempting to identify the operator of this vehicle because it is believed he or she may have information to assist in the investigation.

Garner's body was discovered at approximately 9 a.m. on April 18 in the rear parking lot of the former Bickel's Surplus store. An autopsy performed on Friday, April 19, showed the victim died of blunt-force trauma which was caused by being struck by a vehicle.

Police said the vehicle that struck the victim would have a "high profile," such as a pick-up truck or SUV.

The operator or anyone who can provide information concerning the operator of this vehicle is asked to contact Trooper Eric Glunt at the Hollidaysburg State Police at 696-6100.
