Hunter Takes Deer in Ohio; Wins First Place at Expo

Chuck Yoder of Brevard, North Carolina, who is married to the former Jamie Harker of Martinsburg, shot this 19-point deer with archery while hunting in Adams County, Ohio, on Nov. 7, 2018.

Yoder then entered the deer in the trophy deer contest at the 2019 Ohio Outdoor Life Field & Steam Expo in March in Columbus, Ohio. Placed in the Non-Typical Antlers Archery Division, the deer placed first with a score of 203-7/8. Scores were determined by a series of measurements using the Boone and Crockett scoring system. Although Yoder said he has been hunting in Ohio for 20 years, this was his first year participating in the contest. Yoder is now eligible for the Buckeye Big Buck Club in 2020.

Yoder is the son-in-law of David and Linda Harker of Martinsburg.
