Three to Vie for Blair County Dairy Princess

Three contestants will compete for the Blair County Dairy Princess and the Alternate Dairy Princess titles on Saturday, May 18, at the CMA Church, Williamsburg.

Contestants will have an interview with a panel of judges and answer an impromptu question on stage. They will also be asked to craft a skit and a speech geared toward encouraging all age groups to enjoy three servings of dairy products as a part of a healthy and balanced diet.

Vannika Rice is the daughter of Dave and Terri Rice. Her family owns and operates Clover Creek Cheese Cellar. On her family's farm, she assists with milking, feeding calves, making cheese and helping at local farmer's markets where her family sells their product. She is a senior and participates in the Williamsburg FFA and Morrisons Cove 4-H Dairy Club.

Elizabeth Frederick is the daughter of Aaron and Kim Frederick. She is a student at Williamsburg High School where she participates in the FFA and plays softball. She has been a part of the Blair County Dairy Promotion team for eight years, serving as Dairy Miss and Dairy Maid, and enjoys attending dairy promotions and educating consumers about what dairy farmers do to take care of their cows.

Dana Heltzel, the daughter of Andrew and Jennifer Heltzel, attends Central High School, where she participates in FFA, National Honor Society, Marching Band, District and Regional Band. She also participates in cross country. She is a member of the Blair County 4-H Science of Agriculture. She enjoys helping her parents on their family dairy farm.

The 2019 Blair County Dairy Princess Pageant will be held on Saturday, May 18th at the CMA Church in Williamsburg. A chicken dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the pageant beginning at 7:30.

The pageant will serve as an introduction to the 2019-20 Blair County Dairy Promotion team, as well as recognition of the 2018-2019 Blair County and PA State Alternate Dairy Princess Kara Stultz and the 2018-2019 Blair County Alternate Dairy Princess Victoria Longenecker.
