Home Receives Pledge

The Morrisons Cove Home has announced that it has received a $100,000 pledge toward its “Celebrate Our Heritage” capital campaign. The pledge will provide the name for the lobby of the home’s proposed nursing center, which will be under construction later this year. The lobby will be named after Roxie Detwiler.
Martinsburg Mayor Richard D. Moore and the Martinsburg Police Department reminded citizens that due to the new turning lanes at the square, parking is no longer permitted in front of the post office. Mayor Moore said that there are still drivers parking in front of the post office in spite of “no parking” signs, creating traffic flow problems in the westbound lane. Residents are reminded that street parking is available at the side of the post office along North Market Street.
The Northern Bedford Little League has scheduled its first game under the new lights for Thursday, May 19, on the field behind the elementary school. Teams will be using dugouts constructed by the building trades classes at the high school.
