The Silent Patient

By Alex Michaelides

If you are a fan of thrillers with unexpected twists, you are going to love this debut novel. Alex Michaelides creates a drama that will keep you spellbound. It was hard to put this one down.

Alicia Berenson's life seems perfect. She is a famous painter who is married to Gabriel, an in-demand fashion photographer. Their lives are not what they seem, as one evening, the police are called to their home in one of London's most desirable areas. They find Alicia and Gabriel, both covered in blood, one is dead while the other is still alive but not speaking.

The silent patient is sent to a secure psychiatric unit in North London to live out their life. This is where criminal psychotherapist, Theo Faber, enters the story. He is anxious to work with the patient and unravel the mystery of what happened the night of the murder. His work with this patient borders on the obsessive as he tracks down the truth.

As David Baldacci stated, "The pages will burn with the friction from your hands turning them." If you are a fan of the genre, "The Silent Patient" is a must read. It is a spellbinding psychological thriller in the same vein as "Gone Girl." It will be hard to put this one down!
