Though many people are quick to refer to Memorial Day as the unofficial beginning of summer, the day is much more than that. Initially known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a day to remember those military members who died in service to our country and all those who have passed.
Memorial Day will be marked with special services Sunday and Monday, May 26 and 27, throughout the Morrisons Cove area.
American Legion posts, Veterans of Foreign Wars groups and their auxiliaries and communities have planned the services that are listed by town.
All events are open to the public.
