Blair County's railroad revival picked up more than $2 million of steam recently with the announcement of rail infrastructure funding that has been earmarked for two Hollidaysburg projects by the governor's office.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced the transportation system initiatives in late April.
In all, Gov. Tom Wolf announced the approval of 27 rail freight improvement projects, totaling nearly $3.5 million that, according to a press release, will help create and sustain 255 jobs across Pennsylvania.
