CARLA JEAN COTTLE

Carla Jean Cottle, 81, of Hopewell, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at UPMC Altoona.

A funeral was held on Tuesday, May 21, in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home Inc., http://www.akersfuneralhome.com, Everett. Pastor Debi Decker and Pastor Richard B. Fluke II officiated.

Carla was born on May 24, 1937, in Roaring Spring, a daughter of the late James and Mildred (Snyder) Davis.

She married John Ray Cottle on June 10, 1956, at New Enterprise Church of the Brethren.

Along with her husband of 62 years, she is survived by children Sheri L., married to Randy Simpson, of Hollidaysburg, and John R. Cottle Jr., married to Karen (Fluke), of Woodbury; grandchildren Brandon Simpson, married to Lindsay, of Greenville, South Carolina, Zachary Simpson of Hollidaysburg and Hayley and Allison Cottle of Woodbury; and siblings Sylvia M. Gephart of Ocala, Florida, and Robert A. Davis, married to Betty, of Hollidaysburg.

Carla was a member of the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren.

She was a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School, Class of 1955, and a member of the Saxton Chapter No. 161 Order of the Eastern Star.

She worked 41 years for the Everett Bank until her retirement.

Carla loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening and watching Penn State football.
