A copy of the Herald for this week was unavailable. The following news items were gathered from issues of the previous weeks.

The work on the Bedford-Blair County railroad, which ran from Cessna to Brooks Mills, was rapidly progressing. To complete the project as quickly as possible, 300 men were added to the work crew during the last month.

A late spring cold spell brought a light coat of frost and some cold morning air to the Cove area. Crop damage from the cold temperatures was reported to be slight.
