Martinsburg Man Jailed for Fleeing from Police

A Martinsburg man is behind bars after fleeing an attempted traffic stop by Altoona police on May 21.

According to the criminal complaint, an Altoona police officer was working traffic detail when, at approximately 3:45 p.m., he spotted a car, driven by Terry Ross Aungst III, 33, of Martinsburg, traveling on Sixth Avenue in Altoona, with an expired inspection sticker and a missing rear window.

When the officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, Aungst allegedly began speeding up, leading to a chase through city streets.
