Ask the Williamsburgers

Last week, we had part one of our two-part question talking about the teachers of the Williamsburg School District. For this week, I decided to ask the residents of Williamsburg – Who was your favorite high school teacher and why?

Cindy Landis: Mr. Gutshall; he was a cool teacher and I actually learned from him. Also, Mr. Campbell - he was tough but fair.

Robert Hinton: Mr. Sollenberger – without a doubt was my favorite. I used to rub him the wrong way in high school and he would take me in the hallway for a “talk.” He never demeaned me or put me down but encouraged me to do my best. After I graduated, I served in the Marines for 20 years and had to give that “talk” to young troopers from time to time. Thank you, Mr. Sollenberger.

Steve Butcher: Mr. James Gibboney. An awesome music teacher who was also fun to be around. I know we tried his patience many times over the years but if you put in the effort, Mr. Gibb would take the time to help you learn and practice.

Patricia Krajacic: Mr. Don Appleman and Mr. Redline – they were always so nice.

Jim Banks: Mr. Cramer

Rich Detwiler: Joe Very and Bill Cramer – both were caring and fine men, could not have loved their community more.

Ashley Morgan: Mr. Hess and Mrs. Hoy – I really liked Mr. Imler my senior year.

Melissa Baker: Mrs. Duss and Mr. Imler – loved their classes

Tristan McIntosh: Tamara Glass – she was one of the first teachers who ever (I felt) actually believed in me and made me push myself and work hard to succeed. She is still someone I talk to to this day.
