Appointment Protested

Several residents of North Woodbury Township protested an appointment by the school directors to fill a vacant post on the board. The residents felt that the taxpayers should have had some say in who was appointed to the vacancy.

In preparation for a possible strike by coal miners in the state, Blank Book C. in Roaring Spring began stockpiling extra wood to use for powering their equipment if their reserve of coal is depleted.

In spite of steady rains, Memorial Day services in the area were well attended.
