Co. Commemorates D-Day

Cove Shoe Co. in Martinsburg is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion with a limited edition T-shirt. The shirt features the Corcoran Jump Boot, worn during World War II.

The Spring Cove Women’s Club held an installation of officers at Taylor School, Roaring Spring RD. The newly installed officers for 1994-95 were Dawn Theofield, president; Shelly Lanzendorfer, vice president; Karen Greenwood, recording secretary; Kathy Blough, corresponding secretary; and Sherri Theofield, treasurer.

S. Pearl England, a resident of the Morrisons Cove Home and a former resident of Everett, celebrated her 100th birthday on May 25, 1994. Her husband, L. Chester, died in 1983 at the age of 97. They had been together for 72 years.

The Claysburg-Kimmel softball team defeated Bald Eagle Nittany, 3-2, and Bald Eagle Area, 5-4, to advance to the District 6-AA championship game against Conemaugh Valley.

Adam Hileman and Jill Irvin were named king and queen of the Williamsburg High School 1994 prom.
