Altoona Career and Technology Center Announces Adult Education Programs

The Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center announces its summer open house series, Walk-in Wednesdays.

During the Wednesday open houses, individuals interested in adult education programs may visit GACTC to learn about the various programs and financial aid options, including Veterans benefits, and tour the facility.

Each Wednesday, beginning June 12 through Aug. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., faculty and staff will provide information about the 30-plus programs offered at the GACTC including Practical Nursing, Medical Assistant, Administrative and Medical Office Specialist, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, Phlebotomy, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and Welding.

Many of these programs offer industry-valued certifications. During the open houses, representatives will assist individuals to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the admission application.

Additionally, in response to the needs of community members in the region that need additional training through hands-on, high-quality career and technical education, GACTC has waived the application fee for its continuing education programs (except for the Practical Nursing program).

To learn more about the Walk-in Wednesday open houses or to schedule an individual appointment, please call 941-TECH or visit GACTC.edu.
