JERRY ROY DISNEY

Jerry R. Disney, 76, of rural Martinsburg, passed away late Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Homewood at Martinsburg following an extended illness.

A celebration of life service was held on Wednesday, June 5, at Hicks United Methodist Church, Duncansville. Pastor Rich Morris officiated.

Jerry was born on Dec. 14, 1942, in Bradford, son of the late Roy E. and Lenore K. (Ward) Disney.

He married Martha A. Burns on April 6, 1968, in Custer City, Pennsylvania.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years; a son, Michael R. (Krystal) of rural Roaring Spring; a daughter, Cindy L. (George) Wright of Hollidaysburg; a “second daughter,” Pamela Schuster (husband, Stephen) of Mooresville, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Derek and Gavin Wright, Rebekah and Sarah Disney and Ava and Sutton Schuster; a brother, Fred W. (Marie) Disney of Lewis Run; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Bradford Area High School and also received an associate degree in computer programming.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving from 1964 until 1966, attaining the rank of specialist 4th class.

He was employed as a controller for Curry Supply Co., Curryville, with 26 years of service.

Jerry was a member of Hicks United Methodist Church, Duncansville, and a former member of Curryville Church of the Brethren.

Jerry was a man of strong faith, who loved his family and also enjoyed gardening, reading and woodworking.
