OUT OF THE DARK by Gregg Hurwitz

"Out of The Dark" is the fourth installment in the "Orphan X" series, written by Gregg Hurwitz. Evan Smoak, an orphan, was taken and trained at the age of 12 to become a deep cover operative in the United States government's Orphan Program. Eventually, Smoak decided he needed free of this program and reinvented himself as the Nowhere Man. Evan is the man that people turn to when there is no hope left. Evan also struggles with his craving for normalcy.

In "Out of The Dark," Smoak leads a chaotic life and has trouble balancing everything on his plate and finding time to sleep. Evan finds himself plotting to kill the president of the United States. The President is a selfish man with a history of underhanded dealings. While pursuing the president, Evan also finds himself being hunted by another Orphan who wants Smoak dead. The Nowhere Man has also been contacted by someone who desperately needs his help. A child, dealing with autism, has followed the rules and did not permit a drug shipment worth millions of dollars to be delivered to the drug cartel. The Nowhere Man is doing his best to protect this young man from the drug lords who expect payment from someone for their missing drugs.

Hurwitz keeps his readers on the edge of their seats with a tremendous amount of action and suspense. He manages to keep his readers wondering how Evan will prevail. Hurwitz does a great job balancing Smoak's strengths and the dangers he encounters with his vulnerable side. Another great book in the "Orphan X" series.
