C-K Defeats Glendale for Second Straight Year; In Quarters of State Playoffs

The Claysburg-Kimmel softball team claimed its fifth District 6 title in 11 years on Friday, May 31, as the third-seeded Lady Bulldogs knocked off top-seeded Glendale 8-5 in a Class 1A tilt at Saint Francis University, Loretto.
The Inter-County Conference North Division rivals were meeting for the third straight year in the district title game. Glendale was victorious in 2017 while C-K won last year.
On Monday, June 3, C-K earned its 20th win of the season in 24 games with an 11-7 victory over District 7 runner-up Union in the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs.
